Yes, this works well. In fact, it makes the SVEA almost whisper quiet.

But compared to other roarers, I’m realizing that the SVEA isn’t that loud. For other roarer stoves I have, the roarer is so loud that you can’t really have a conversation when working at the stove.

So have a muter makes a huge difference in making a compact camping area a fun and relaxing environment. And that is worth the weight of the muter.

Since the SVEA isn’t that bad, I wonder whether the benefit of making the stove quieter is really worth the weight of the quietstove.

It really depends on whether you have the SVEA and find the roarer disruptively loud.
