This is not a knife sharpener for daily use of course. But it’s good to leave in your pack in a pinch, because when you need to sharpen an overly dull knife in the middle of the woods, it’s always a good idea to have something handy to sharpen with.
That said, there are many better pocket sharpeners out there if you have a little skill. The DMT pocket is probably a good choice as diamond dust coated sharpeners can sharpen even the toughest metals.
For a novice sharpener like me though, this is more than plenty to get my pocket knife or bowie “sharp enough” for most campsite work. The fact that it has a coarse and fine sharpener plus the rod for sharpening serrated edges makes this a good little worker at a barely noticeable weight.
